With the rise of the cemented city, the city gradually loses its ecological balance; Those often seen insects and grasslands in the early age of Taiwan have almost disappeared in this modern city, and people become more and more accustomed to live in the environment without nature’s embrace. Most of all, people almost forget the significance of ecological issues. Just like those dinosaurs in Jurassic period, ladybugs start to absent from people’s daily lives. By those artificial ladybugs, we hope to wake people’s memories of ladybugs and notice the importance of the disappearing nature.
From designer’s perspective to see the ecosystem in the city and to create a micro-ecology in a creative way are the purposes of this exhibition. During the interaction between people and this active art, we hope to catch people’s attention of ecological issues and to enhance the paragenesis of city and ecology.
We will have thirty thousand of artificial ladybugs which will be created from this exhibition, and allow everyone to bring them to every corner of Taiwan. Discover the beauty of ladybug, discover the beauty of urban ecology.
