巴黎 雪鐵龍公園 Parc André-Citroën
In 1915, Citroën built his factory on the banks of the Seine; it operated there until closure in the 1970s. At that time, 24 hectares (59 acres) were thus freed up and included in the capital's "urbanization" policy and gave rise to the Parc André Citroën. It was created at the beginning of the 1990s and was officially opened in 1992. Responsible for its design are the French landscape designers Gilles Clément and Alain Provost, and the architects Patrick Berger, Jean-François Jodry and Jean-Paul Viguier. Alain Provost and Gilles Clément conceived of Parc Citroen as a place of transition from urban to rural. It is based four themes: artifice, architecture, movement and nature. Magnolias pruned in a column border the two green houses. The central lawn opens on the river, permitting visitors to eat, run, frolic, play games or read books. In "Le Jardin en Mouvement" -- the wild garden -- the rigid geometry of the design gives way to rose bushes, corn-poppies, bamboos, balsamines, digitals, thorns, and weeds growing freely. Following in order along the edge come a series of intimate garden rooms -- the "Jardins sériels" -- each presenting in a dominant color: red, orange, green, blue, gilded and blue and silvery. The use of water and clipped plants echo the French Baroque. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parc_Andr%C3%A9_Citro%C3%ABn
The promenade plantée (walk with trees) in the 12th arrondissement of Paris, was designed by Jacques Vergely (landscape architect) and Philippe Mathieux (architect). It is a rail trail, constructed on an abandoned 19th-century railway viaduct, which connected the Bastille area to the eastern suburbs of Paris, and ceased operation on December 14, 1969. Conversion to park took place between 1987 and 2000. It was for a long time the only elevated park in the world, but recently the first phase of the High Line, a similar park on an old railway-viaduct in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan, has finished its first phase with projected completion in 2011. Also there are plans for the Bloomingdale Trail in Chicago and on old Reading Viaduct elevated rail in the Callowhill section of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Promenade_plant%C3%A9e
